
Mussels Marinara
A classic and simple dish of mussels cooked in a flavorful tomato and garlic sauce.

Prepare the mussels: scrub them under cold water, remove any beards. Discard any mussels that are open and do not close when tapped.

Mince the garlic and dice the onion. Finely chop the fresh parsley.

Heat the olive oil in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add the diced onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.

Pour in the dry white wine and scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the pot. Let it simmer for 2 minutes.

Add the crushed tomatoes, salt, and black pepper. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.

Add the prepared mussels to the pot. Cover and cook until the mussels have opened, about 5-7 minutes. Discard any mussels that do not open.
