
Crispy Parmesan Garlic Knots
These garlic knots are oven-baked to a perfect crisp on the outside while remaining soft and chewy on the inside, coated in a savory garlic-butter sauce and topped with fresh Parmesan cheese.

In a small bowl, dissolve sugar and yeast in warm water. Let stand for 5-10 minutes until foamy.

In a large bowl, whisk together flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and mix until a shaggy dough forms.

Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

While the dough rises, prepare the garlic butter: Melt butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Remove from heat and stir in chopped parsley.

Punch down the risen dough and divide it into 16 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a 6-inch rope and tie into a knot. Place knots on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

In a small bowl, whisk the egg. Brush the tops of the knots with the beaten egg.
