2 cups rolled oats
1.5 cups warm water
2.25 tsp active dry yeast
0.25 cup sugar
1.5 tsp salt
0.25 cup butter

    Proof the yeast: In a small bowl, combine the warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let stand for 5-10 minutes until foamy.

    Prepare the oats: In a large bowl, combine the rolled oats with 1 cup of boiling water. Let stand for 10 minutes to soften.

    Melt the butter and add it to the softened oats.

    Combine dry ingredients: In a separate large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour and salt.

    Combine wet and dry ingredients: Add the proofed yeast mixture and the oat mixture to the flour mixture. Mix until a shaggy dough forms.
