3 tbsp olive oil
4 cloves garlic
28 oz canned diced tomatoes
1 cup fresh basil
1.5 tsp salt
0.5 tsp black pepper

    Cook spaghetti according to package directions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining.

    While pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

    Add diced tomatoes, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Simmer for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until sauce thickens slightly.

    Stir in fresh basil. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet with the sauce. Toss to combine, adding reserved pasta water a tablespoon at a time if needed to loosen the sauce.
