Ingredients

5 lbs apples
1.5 cups brown sugar
0.5 cups white sugar
1.5 tsp cinnamon
0.5 tsp allspice
0.25 tsp cloves
2 tbsp lemon juice

Instructions

Wash, peel, core, and chop the 5 lbs of apples.

Combine chopped apples, 0.5 cup of water, and 2 tbsp of lemon juice in a large Dutch oven or slow cooker.

Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until apples are soft, about 20 minutes minutes.

Mash the apples with a potato masher or process with an immersion blender until smooth.

Stir in 1.5 cups of brown sugar, 0.5 cups of white sugar, 1.5 tsp of cinnamon, 0.5 tsp of allspice, and 0.25 tsp of cloves.

Continue cooking over low heat, stirring very frequently to prevent sticking, until thickened to a spreadable consistency, about 90 minutes to 150 minutes minutes.
