
Classic Apple Butter
A rich and smooth apple butter, perfect for spreading on toast or using in baked goods. This recipe has been modified to be peanut-free.

Wash, peel, core, and roughly chop the apples.

Place the chopped apples in a large pot with the water.

Bring to a boil, then reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 30-40 minutes, or until apples are very soft.

Mash the apples with a potato masher or blend with an immersion blender until smooth.

Stir in the ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, ground cloves, and sugar.

Cook uncovered over low heat, stirring frequently, for another 2-3 hours, or until thickened to your desired consistency.
