0.75 cup unsalted butter
1.5 cup granulated sugar
3 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
0.5 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
0.5 tsp salt
0.25 tsp baking powder
15 oz caramel candies
2 tbsp heavy cream
1 tsp flaky sea salt

Instructions

    Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour an 8x8 inch baking pan.

    In a large bowl, melt butter. Whisk in granulated sugar until combined.

    Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.

    In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.

    Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.

    Spread half of the brownie batter evenly in the prepared pan.

    Unwrap caramel candies and place them in a microwave-safe bowl. Add heavy cream. Microwave on high for 1-2 minutes, stirring halfway through, until smooth and melted.
