
Classic Caramel Apple Pie

Prepare the pie crust: In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Cut in cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Gradually add ice water, mixing until dough just comes together. Divide into two discs, wrap in plastic, and chill for at least 30 minutes.

Preheat oven to 400°F.

Prepare the apple filling: Peel, core, and slice apples. In a large bowl, toss apples with granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt.

Roll out one disc of dough and line a 9-inch pie plate. Fill with the apple mixture.

Roll out the second disc of dough. Place over the apple filling, crimp edges, and cut vents.
