½ head cabbage
4 stalks green onions
1 inch ginger
2 cloves garlic
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp sesame oil
1 tbsp vegetable oil
1 package dumpling wrappers
¼ cup water
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp black pepper

Instructions

    Finely chop the cabbage. Mince the ginger and garlic. Chop the green onions.

    In a bowl, combine the chopped cabbage, minced ginger, minced garlic, chopped green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, vegetable oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.

    Place about 1 tablespoon of filling onto the center of each dumpling wrapper. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water, then fold and pleat to seal.

    Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Arrange dumplings in a single layer and cook for 2-3 minutes until bottoms are golden brown.

    Carefully add 1/4 cup of water to the skillet, cover immediately, and steam for 5-7 minutes, or until wrappers are tender and filling is cooked through.

    Remove lid and let any remaining water evaporate. Serve hot.
